David Huynh, President

As the HTBA President, David is responsible for laying out the strategy of the club and coordinating activities to promote career preparation and professional networking for club members.  David’s career focuses are product management and product development and marketing in the consumer high tech internet industry.  Prior to Anderson he worked for four years as an economic and financial consultant at Cornerstone Research, Inc.  David graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in Economics and Political Science.  David plays racquetball, basketball, and soccer. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, David is a die hard 49ers, Warriors and Giants fan. David’s MBA internship was at Google Inc. as a Product Marketing Manager.

Kevin Lee, Vice President of Finance

As the VP of Finance and Operations, Kevin is responsible for managing the HTBA budget and keeping the club running smoothly.  His career focuses are in finance within the tech industry.  Prior to Anderson, Kevin worked at a small tech start-up called SkyGem in the inflight entertainment market as an applications engineer.  Kevin graduated from UC San Diego with a degree in electrical engineering.  In his spare time, Kevin enjoys watching movies, salsa and hip-hop dancing, and being a die-hard Bay Area sports fan. Kevin’s MBA internship was at Shutterfly Inc. as a Product Manager.

 

Daniel Zarovy, Vice President of Student Affairs

As the HTBA VP of Student Affairs, Daniel is responsible for facilitating interactions among HTBA members to promote greater communication and learning.  His career focuses are product management and product development and marketing in the consumer high tech internet industry.  Prior to Anderson Daniel worked for entreprenurial companies in product management roles.  He received a Bachelor’s degree from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in International Business and from the Luebeck University of Applied Sciences in Business Engineering.  Daniel enjoys microbrew beer, nonfiction audiobooks, and the Green Bay Packers. Daniel’s MBA internship was at Cisco Systems.

Michael Liu, Vice President of Business Development

As the VP of Business Development, Michael is responsible for fostering relationships between industry firms and Anderson’s HTBA.  Michael obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2002.  He served a five-year stint at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, Washington, developing cutting-edge online applications for Windows Live users.  Michael built and managed a software team at a venture-funded software startup in Silicon Valley before starting his own technology consulting practice in San Francisco.  Michael is currently pursuing his MBA at the UCLA Anderson School of Management with emphasis on entrepreneurship and technology management.

Jason Wang, Vice President of External Relations

As the VP of External Relations, Jason manages and cultivates many of HTBA’s established relationships with major technology firms. He also helps to manage the HTBA’s brand in the technology industry. Jason graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School with a BS in Economics and then went on to work at IBM in the internal strategy consulting group for 4 years. At IBM he worked with executives across the business units to tackle their most challenging issues, specializing in growth strategy and sales force strategy. Prior to coming to Anderson Jason spent the summer working at Family Equity Partners a private equity firm focused on the technology & healthcare service industries. Jason is a huge Utah Jazz and 49ers and loves everything outdoors.

Jonathan Chu, Vice President of Events

As VP of Events, Jonathan is responsible for organizing and coordinating activities to foster relationships with key individuals from prominent high tech companies to assist HTBA members with career preparation and future employment. He is also an active Director in a similar capacity in the Enterpreneur Association. Prior to attending UCLA Anderson, Jonathan was an IT Consultant at Accenture for 5 years, developing cutting-edge enterprise software solutiions for various Fortune 500 clients in a multitude of industries. At UCLA Anderson, Jonathan is focusing on product management and strategy as relating to the high tech industry. Jonathan is a graduate of UCLA with a BS in Computer Science & Engineering.  He also loves playing tennis, pumping big iron, and all things related to LA sports – GO LAKERS/BRUINS!  Jonathan’s MBA internship was at NetApp Inc. as a Product Manager.

Keith Krieger, Vice President of Events

As the HTBA VP of Events, Keith is responsible for organizing events to help Anderson students network with high tech professionals in functions including but not limited to product management, marketing, strategy, and finance.  His career focus is product management and analytics in the consumer software and internet industries.  Prior to Anderson, Keith worked as an actuary for Farmers Insurance, focusing primarily on new product development, pricing, and competitive analyses.  He holds a BS in Economics from Duke University, where he was also a member of the track and cross country teams.  Keith enjoys surfing, occasionally running, and listening to indie music.  Keith’s MBA internship was at Symantec Corp. as a Product Manager

Eddie Lee, Vice President of Events

As the HTBA VP of Events, Eddie is responsible for organizing events that provide HTBA members with recruiting, networking, and informational opportunities in order to maximize their exposure to the high-tech industry.  He is seeking a career in product marketing or product management in the consumer segment of the high-tech industry.  Prior to attending UCLA Anderson, Eddie spent 5 years as a software engineer at Honeywell developing the latest safety electronics technologies for the aerospace industry.  He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, where he also served as principal cellist of the UW Symphony.  Eddie is also a self-proclaimed foodie and an anguished Seattle sports fan.  Eddie’s MBA internship was at Cisco Systems as a Product Manager.

Jennifer Bialson, Vice President of Marketing

Jen is pursuing her MBA with an emphasis on product management and product marketing.  Prior to Anderson, Jen spent her professional career in entertainment, technology, and finance assessing and triaging unstructured problems and analyzing market opportunities to allocate resources and drive product innovation.  After Anderson, she intends to do the same for the convergence of tech, entertainment, and finance, as mobile payments and online distribution of premium entertainment become the norm.  As a Stanford graduate with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Dance, Jen believes in living life to a high degree of difficulty.  Her favorite travel experiences include ostrich riding in Oudtshoorn, South Africa, Forró dancing in Ilha Grande, Brazil, and surfing alongside of dolphins at Manly Beach, Australia.

Courtney Mayeda, Vice President of Marketing Communications

As the HTBA VP of Marketing Communications, Courtney is responsible for helping with the What’s Hot in Anderson Tech (WHAT), promotional materials, and other general HTBA communications to students and alumni. Her career focuses on product management and product marketing in the high tech industry.  Prior to business school, Courtney worked for Wells Fargo’s Internet Services Group in their Online Sales and Marketing division.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Studies and Hispanic Studies from Scripps College. Courtney loves the Los Angeles Dodgers, jazz dance, practicing Spanish, and international travel.

Derrick Low, Vice President of Technology

Derrick Low is pursuing an MBA at the UCLA Anderson School of Management with an emphasis on Finance and Real Estate. Prior to attending UCLA Anderson, Derrick spent four years as a Technology Consulting at Deloitte Consulting with a focus on developing innovative business and technology solutions in the Sales & Marketing functional areas. This summer, he will work as a Summer Associate at Deloitte Consulting, where he will partner with clients to develop and implement business intelligence and predictive modeling solutions. Derrick holds a B.S. in Business with a focus on Management Information Systems, from the University of Minnesota.  In his free time, Derrick enjoys racquetball and weightlifting.

Nick Zheng, Vice President of Alumni Relations

As the HTBA VP of Alumni Relations, Nick is responsible for strengthening HTBA’s relationships with alumni and for running the HTBA student-alumni mentorship program.  Nick’s career focus is on strategy and operations.  Prior to business school, Nick worked for three years at Huron Consulting Group.  He holds a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Biochemistry from UC San Diego, and has a deep passion for technology, spicy food, the outdoors, and the Lakers.

Samba Pedapalli, Vice President of FEMBA

As VP of FEMBA, Samba is responsible for all HTBA activities for FEMBA students. Samba currently works at Workday Inc, a cloud based ERP company, where he is responsible for integration with external software systems. Prior to Workday, he was with Sun Microsystems for more than 7 years in its Enterprise Software division. As an Architect for business-2-business software offering, he played key role in defining the vision and direction of the product as a cutting edge offering. In between, he tried his hand at Entrepreneurship as an Associate Partner at RedSeal Solutions. Samba has a BS from Bangalore University and enjoys his life with a mix of technology, sports, listening to music and spending time with family.
